Buffalo BR-PX68U2-BK External Blu-ray Writer

Buffalo has unveiled its latest external Blu-ray writer ‘BR-PX68U2-BK’ for the Japanese market. Measuring only 137mm x 142mm x 20mm and weighing just 340 grams, the drive offers a USB 2.0 connection interface and provides write speeds of up to 6x for BD-R, 4x for BD-R DL, 2x for BD-RE SL/DL, 8x for DVD-R/+R/+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM, 4x for DVD-RW/+RW DL, 24x for CD-R and 10x for CD-RW. The Buffalo BR-PX68U2-BK will go on sale in Japan in November for about $340.

Upcoming Samsung Needle Slim 40-inch LED TV

The Samsung “Needle Slim” is a 40-inch Full HD LED Backlight TV that measures at just 3mm thin. The display features a 120Hz LCD panel and a 5000:1 contrast ratio. Sadly, there is no info on the release date so far. 

NEC Releases The First Smallest WiMAX Router With Wireless LAN

NEC has proudly announced the world’s first smallest WiMAX router with wireless LAN support. Known as the Aterm WM3300R, the device measures at only 94mm x 67mm x 22mm and weights for 145grams. The WiMAX router comes with embedded Wireless LAN (BG), offering Multi SSID functions and basic Wireless LAN Security protocols like WEP and WPA(TKIP/AES). The WM3300R connects to the computer via USB port. The NEC Aterm WM3300R will be available in early November 2009 in Japan for 25,000 Yen or around $272.

Philips Wireless HDTV Link Available Stateside

Philips has finally launched its Wireless HDTV Link in the US market. It is basically a wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver kit that comes with two HDMI and two component video inputs. The device allows you to replace all of your HD cables for set-top boxes, HD satellite receiver, Blu-ray player and gaming console with a single box that controls all of them through a wireless connection. The Philips Wireless HDTV Link is currently available for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $799.

D-Link Xtreme N DIR-685 All-in-one Router

D-Link has finally released its Xtreme N DIR-685 all-in-one router that was debuted at 2009 CES in January. The router features a built-in draft N Wi-Fi module allowing the device to communicate with network attached storage devices to display streaming videos and pictures, weather forecasts and other live streaming Internet contents. The D-Link Xtreme N DIR-685 also supports an optional 1TB 2.5-inch SATA drive that can be inserted into the side of the DIR-685. There is also a built-in FTP server that gives users access to documents, photos, music and other local or networked content. Additional features include two USB ports, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, Energy Star specifications for savings of up to 30 percent, and a Wi-Fi Scheduler can turn off the Wi-Fi radio automatically at a specified time.

ZOTAC MAG Nettop PC

Hong Kong based ZOTAC has announced its new nettop PC for the mass market called the MAG (mini all-in-one giant). Measuring 186mm x 189mm x 38mm, this space-saving computer is powered by either a dual-core Intel Atom 330 or a single core Atom 230 CPU and equipped with a NVIDIA ION graphics card, a 2GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a 4-in-1 card reader, WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, an HDMI port and an optional Windows Vista or 7 OS. Pricing and availability are still unknown at the moment.

LG Launches Two New LED Backlight Wireless TV In Korea

LG today released a couple of wireless LED backlight TVs – the SL95 and SL90 series. Measuring at only 29.3mm thin, these TVs are available in either 42-inch or 47-inch sizes and come with a smaller bezel of 30mm. Both models adopt the LG EYEQ Green technology that can reduce up to 70% your TV potential consumptionEach TV comes equipped with a remote control that works just like the Nintendo Wiimote. The remote control has a Gyro sensor allowing you to easily control the TV 3D User Interface by waving, shaking, or rotating it.

Creative’s Sound Blaster Easy Record Kit

Creative’s Sound Blaster Easy Record Kit is a useful tool for those who want to convert all of their collection of vinyl records and cassette tapes into digital formats such as WMA or MP3. It doesn’t require driver software. You just need to plug one side of the device to a USB port, while the other side to the working vinyl or cassette player via the stereo RCA inputs or the 3.5mm line-in connector. The Sound Blaster Easy Record Kit also has a headphone jack for audio monitoring during recording. Each purchase comes bundled with the Smart Recorder software that has Audio Clean-Up and Track Segmentation features. The software can effectively clean up the hisses, pops and noises during Audio Clean-Up process. Meanwhile, the Track Segmentation feature is able to detect silence and split them into different tracks as necessarily. The Creative Sound Blaster Easy Record Kit will be launched in mid-October 2009 for $34.77 each.

Samsung SH-B083 Internal Blu-ray Disc COMBO Drive

Samsung has just unveiled its first internal Blu-ray disc COMBO drive called the SH-B083. The drive features a 2MB buffer memory, a SATA connection interface and provides 8x read speeds for BD-R and BD-ROMs, 16x for DVDs and 40x for CDs. The drive also boasts an average access speed of 350ms thanks to its fast dual layer jumping algorithm, which is much faster than any other drive on the market today. The Samsung SH-B083 will hit the market in November for unannounced price yet.
