Philips HTS8160B Bluray Soundbar with iPod Dock

The Philips HTS8160B Bluray Soundbar is now available in Singapore. This home theater system consists of a Blu-ray disc player, a separate subwoofer, and the Ambisound HD speakers system that boasts Dolby True HD audio format and 7.1-channel surround sound. The HTS8160B is also compatible with the iPod/iPhone. If you are interested, you should have at least $1,500 in your pocket. The release date for the North American market is still unknown.

Buffalo Ministation Metro Portable Hard Drive

The hard drive maker Buffalo will launch a new range of portable hard drives. Available in black, red, or white, the new Buffalo Ministation Metro will come in sizes up to 500GB. It is priced at around $200 when it is released in UK this August.

GeeksPhone Launches The One Android Phone

If you happen to live in Spain and planning on buying a new Android phone, then I have a good news for you, cause pretty soon GeeksPhone will launch their first Android phone for the Spanish market. Dubbed as the One, this new smartphone is equipped with a 625MHz PXA310 processor, a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a front-facing camera, a microSD card slot, AGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, Android 1.5 Cupcake OS and supports quad-band EDGE/HSDPA connectivity. The One will be available in Spain this summer unlocked for anywhere between $352 to $422.

Samsung Introduces Its WiMAX MID ‘Mondi’ In Korea

Samsung Electronics has introduced its new mobile WiMAX enabled handheld device during World IT Show 2009 in Korea. Dubbed as the Mondi, this portable device integrates a 4.3-inch full touchscreen display, a full QWERTY slide keyboard, a 3MP camera, GPS function, WiFi, Bluetooth and runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Not to mention, it also comes packed with multimedia features that offer instant access to E-mail, Internet, video content and business applications. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing and release date yet.

Yamaha MusicCAST2 Wireless Audio Streamer

Yamaha’s MusicCAST2 is a Wi-Fi-based network music system that allows you to wirelessly transmit and listen to music in up to 32 rooms throughout your home. The MusicCAST2 supports iTunes AAC files, MP3s, WMA, FLAC, and WAV, and can playback music from iPods, Bluetooth devices and other Yamaha accessories via a built-in dock port and USB thumb drives. You can also download music from a variety of sources, including Rhapsody, Internet radio, both PC and Macs, and NAS devices.

Huawei E583X Wireless Modem

This would be the coolest device to get, the Huawei E583X USB modem is able to turn a 3G wireless signal into WiFi signal. The modem is powered by a 1,500mAh battery, which provides enough juice for around 5 hours of working time. You can also recharge its battery using your laptop via USB port. The Huawei E583X USB modem will be released in Europe later next month for an unknown price tag.

First Barebone PC From Shuttle To Support AMD Socket AM3 Processors

Shuttle PC just introduced a new mini-PC in the form of the SA76G2, which is the first barebone that support AMD socket AM3 processors using the 760G chipset, including the Phenom II and original Phenom, Athlon 64 X2, Athlon 64 and Sempron CPUs. The computer supports two DDR2 DIMM slots for up to 8GB of RAM and is backwards-compatible with AM2 and AM2+ CPUs. The ATI Radeon 3000 onboard graphics chipset is capable of driving two separate displays, while the PC’s PCI Express 2.0 slot can accommodate a separate graphics card. Other features include six USB 2.0 ports, a PS2 port, a VGA port, a DVI connection and audio input and output. Measuring 11.8-inch x 7.9-inch x 7.3-inch, the mini-PC comes with a 250W power supply with heatpipe cooling. The Shuttle SA76G2 is now available for $265.

Huawei U8230 Android Smartphones


The U8230 is the latest smartphones from Huawei that were showcased during CommunicAsia 2009 in Singapore. The U8230 is an Android-powered smartphone that offers a wide 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera, an on-screen QWERTY keyboard, a trackball, various Google apps and a 1,500 mAh battery. The Phone will be commercially available in the second half of 2009 for unannounced price yet.

Samsung B7610 Officially Released in Singapore

Samsung Korea today released in Singapore the B7610 smartphone. It is a WinMo PocketPC with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 3.5-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, an FM radio, and a microSD slot (with support for up to 32GB). The company also released the Samsung Pixon 12 M8910 12MP camera phone, the Samsung Jackie B7320, and the Android powered Samsung I7500. Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing so far.

MSI MT-V886 HD PMP Unveiled

MSI has rolled out a new HD PMP in the form of the MT-V886. The gadget comes with a 4.3-inch screen that only supports 480 x 272 pixels, so you will have to connect the player to a larger screen through the built-in TV out to enjoy the 720p videos. The player supports RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV video files, an FM tuner and e-Book functionality. No info on pricing so far.

Acer M900 Smartphone at Computex 2009

Acer has showed off its latest smartphone at Computex 2009 in Taipei, Taiwan. The Acer M900 comes equipped with a finger recognition function, a 3.8-inch touchscreen display, and a QWERTY keyboard. The handset also supports e-mail and internet access.

Shuttle XS32HD Home Media Center

Shuttle has unveiled their new home media center at Computex 2009. Dubbed as the XS32HD, the system is equipped with an Intel Atom N270 processor, an Intel 945GSE + ICH7M chipset, a 1GB of RAM, a Mini-PCI Express socket X1, 8 USB ports, a 5.1 HD audio system, a HDMI port and a D-sub dual port. Pricing and availability are still unknown at the moment.

I-O Data Launches WiMax-ready USB Dongle and Wireless Lan Router

I-O Data just released two new WiMax-ready products in the Japanese market in the form of the WiMax USB dongle WMX-01 and wireless LAN router WMX-GW02A to host it. The router supports up to 40Mbps of data transfer wirelessly. The WiMax-ready USB Dongle and Wireless Lan router will be available in Japan later this month for 15,700 Yen ($159).

Monster Cable is known for its high-quality cables. The company just launched the SuperThin HDMI cable that measures at just 3.5mm in diameter. These HDMI cables come with a recommended retail price of up to $100 for 8 feet and $120 for 16 feet. You can also get 1 meter, 2 meter, 4 meter and 5 meter configurations for $80, $90, $100 and $120, respectively.
