MSI has recently released a media streamer that is designed to be used with your HDTV. Known as the MSI Movie Station HD100, the gadget delivers Full HD video to your HDTV in 1080p and supports HDMI, Component and Composite connections. You can also choose to connect the device to your PC via WiFi or Ethernet. The device also has two USB 2.0 ports, so you can play your videos direct from a USB flash drive or an external hard drive. The MSI Movie Station HD100 will be available in Germany for about $142. Unfortunately, there is no info on when we will see the MSI Movie Station HD100 in the US and UK.

Panasonic’s New External DVD Burner For AVCHD Cameras

The VW-BN2 is not an ordinary external DVD burner. The gadget is specially designed to be used and connected to an ACVHD camera, so you can burn the video on the go. The Panasonic VW-BN2 provides a maximum speed of 8x for DVD ±R and 4x for DVD ±DL. The Panasonic VW-BN2 will be available next month for 25000 Yen ($278).

Sony Ericsson Wireless Stereo Headset With FM Radio

Sony Ericsson today launched the MW600 Wireless Stereo Headset with FM Radio that features an advanced Bluetooth technology and a built-in FM radio. Measuring 17.5-mm x 15.0-mm x 62.0-mm and weighing 13-grams, the wireless headset features an OLED display, easy access controls, RDS radio station information, and a 3.5mm jack, so that you can swap the headphones to match how you listen to music in your phone. And then place the blasters near the equipment you want to control. The Harmony IR Extender System works with most IR remotes, so you can use the one you already own. The Logitech Harmony IR Extender System will be released in the US market in November for around $59.99.

Buffalo has unveiled its latest external Blu-ray writer ‘BR-PX68U2-BK’ for the Japanese market. Measuring only 137mm x 142mm x 20mm and weighing just 340 grams, the drive offers a USB 2.0 connection interface and provides write speeds of up to 6x for BD-R, 4x for BD-R DL, 2x for BD-RE SL/DL, 8x for DVD-R/+R/+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM, 4x for DVD-RW/+RW DL, 24x for CD-R and 10x for CD-RW. NEC Releases The First Smallest WiMAX Router With Wireless LAN

NEC has proudly announced the world’s first smallest WiMAX router with wireless LAN support. Known as the Aterm WM3300R, the device measures at only 94mm x 67mm x 22mm and weights for 145grams. The WiMAX router comes with embedded Wireless LAN (BG), offering Multi SSID functions and basic Wireless LAN Security protocols like WEP and WPA(TKIP/AES). The WM3300R connects to the computer via USB port. The NEC Aterm WM3300R will be available in early November 2009 in Japan for 25,000 Yen or around $272. 

Philips Wireless HDTV Link Available Stateside

Philips has finally launched its Wireless HDTV Link in the US market. It is basically a wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver kit that comes with two HDMI and two component video inputs. The device allows you to replace all of your HD cables for set-top boxes, HD satellite receiver, Blu-ray player and gaming console with a single box that controls all of them through a wireless connection. The Philips Wireless HDTV Link is currently available for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $799.

Hong Kong based ZOTAC has announced its new nettop PC for the mass market called the MAG (mini all-in-one giant). Measuring 186mm x 189mm x 38mm, this space-saving computer is powered by either a dual-core Intel Atom 330 or a single core Atom 230 CPU and equipped with a NVIDIA ION graphics card, a 2GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a 4-in-1 card reader, WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, an HDMI port and an optional Windows Vista or 7 OS. Pricing and availability are still unknown at the moment.

LG today released a couple of wireless LED backlight TVs – the SL95 and SL90 series. Measuring at only 29.3mm thin, these TVs are available in either 42-inch or 47-inch sizes and come with a smaller bezel of 30mm. Both models adopt the LG EYEQ Green technology that can reduce up to 70% your TV potential consumptionEach TV comes equipped with a remote control that works just like the Nintendo Wiimote. Creative’s Sound Blaster Easy Record Kit

Creative’s Sound Blaster Easy Record Kit is a useful tool for those who want to convert all of their collection of vinyl records and cassette tapes into digital formats such as WMA or MP3. It doesn’t require driver software. You just need to plug one side of the device to a USB port, while the other side to the working vinyl or cassette player via the stereo RCA inputs or the 3.5mm line-in connector. The Sound Blaster Easy Record Kit also has a headphone jack for audio monitoring during recording. Samsung SH-B083 Internal Blu-ray Disc COMBO Drive

Samsung has just unveiled its first internal Blu-ray disc COMBO drive called the SH-B083. The drive features a 2MB buffer memory, a SATA connection interface and provides 8x read speeds for BD-R and BD-ROMs, 16x for DVDs and 40x for CDs. The drive also boasts an average access speed of 350ms thanks to its fast dual layer jumping algorithm, which is much faster than any other drive on the market today. The Samsung SH-B083 will hit the market in November for unannounced price yet.

Buffalo DriveStation HD-HXU3 USB 3.0 External HDD

Buffalo has just announced its new SuperSpeed USB 3.0 external HDD, the DriveStation HD-HXU3. Coming in a slick, black glossy design, the drive is available in either 1.0TB, 1.5TB or 2.0TB capacity and provides transfer speeds of up to 125MB/s. The drive is also backwards-compatible and will work seamlessly with USB 2.0-enabled computers, notebooks and netbooks. The Buffalo DriveStation HD-HXU3 will start shipping in Q4 for unannounced price yet.

QNAP NMP-1000 Networked Media Player

QNAP Systems has finally released the QNAP NMP-1000 networked media player that was debuted at 2009 CeBIT. The device supports BitTorrent Server, FTP Server, remote web browser access, and DLNA compliant. The QNAP NMP-1000 can function as an external USB or eSATA drive to your PC. The gadget supports most of famous multimedia file formats including XVID, H.264, H.263, WMV9, VC1, AVI, MPEG/MPG, MKV, FLAC, WAV, WMA, AAC, PCM, AC3, and OGG. Pricing info is still unavailable so far.

KEF HTB2SE-W High-end Wireless Subwoofer

KEF today introduced its HTB2SE-W high-end subwoofer which is actually a wireless version of the existing HTB2. The HTB2SE-W’s wireless capabilities are made possible via KEF’s Universal Wireless Kit, which uses a standard 2.4Ghz RF system. The sub uses a 10-inch driver powered by a 250 watt digital amplifier and a 10-inch passive radiator packed into a slim enclosure that can be used horizontally or vertically. The KEF HTB2SE-W should be available in October 2009 for $1200. KEF’s Universal Wireless Kit is also available separately for $599.

Archos has unveiled more info about their upcoming touchscreen tablet, the Archos 9. This 9-inch tablet is powered by an Intel Atom processor, up to 120GB disk drive, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system. Other features include a 1GB of RAM, a lithium-ion battery, webcam, and the virtual keyboard. It also comes bundled several softwares including Microsoft Office and Skype. The Tablet is expected to start shipping on October 22nd for approx. $500.

Kensington Universal USB Docks

Kensington today released two new USB docking stations that you can use to add several USB ports and other I/O jacks to your computer. What makes this input device interesting is that it has DisplayLink technology that allows you to connect an external display via a USB port. There are two docks, one that adds Ethernet to the above for $149.99 and one without for $129.99. Both models have 5 USB ports, DVI and VGA inputs, and audio I/O ports.

Sony Ericsson today unveiled the first motion activated headphones in the world. The Sony Ericsson MH907 adopts the SensMe Control technology that responds without a single press of a button. You just place the two headphones in your ear to start listening to music. If you want to pause the music, you can remove one ear bud, and to start listening to the music again just place it in your ear. The Sony Ericsson MH907 Motion Activated Headphones will be available in a range of colors, including yellow/white and chrome.

Pioneer’s First 12x BD Burner

Pioneer has proudly introduced this morning the BDR-S05J-BK, which is the first BD burner that supports the 12x recording with selected BD-R SL and DL media (6x- certified). The SATA drive also supports 6x recording with BD-R LTH discs, 2x with BD-RE/RE DL, 16x with DVD±R, 8x with DVD±R DL and DVD±RW discs, 40x with CD-R 40 X speed and finally 24x with CD-RW discs. The Pioneer BDR-S05J-BK will be released at the end of this month for around 38,000 Yen ($416).

LG Unveils XPION X30 ION-Based Nettop

South Korean company LG has just unveiled its first ION based nettop PC called the XPION X30. Weighing just 1.1kg, this space-saving computer adopts a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N230 processor, a NVIDIA ION (MCP7A) chipset, an integrated GeForce 9400 graphics card, a 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive and Windows Vista Home Basic OS. The LG XPION X30 will make its debut tomorrow in Korea.

Buffalo BR-X816U2 External Blu-ray Writer

Buffalo is preparing to release another external Blu-ray writer namely the BR-X816U2. Weighing just 1.3kg, the drive offers a USB 2.0 interface, a 4MB cache memory and has the ability to write BD-R/-R DL at 8x, BD-RE/-RE DL at 2x, DVD-R/+R at 16x, DVD+RW at 8x, DVD-RW at 6x, DVD-RAM at 5x, DVD-R/+R DL at 4x, CD-R at 32x and CD-RW at 24x. The burner is also bundled with CyberLink’s PowerDirector 7, PowerProducer 5, PowerDVD 8, Power2Go 6, PowerBackup 2, InstantBurn 5, and MediaShow 4. The Buffalo BR-X816U2 External Blu-ray Writer will be available in late-September for 24,200 Yen (about $266).

Philips has recently showed off its Wireless HDTV Link at IFA Berlin 2009. This HDMI transmitter and receiver pair allows you to place your actual A/V components up to 20 yards away from the set. The base station comes with two HDMI connectors and two component connectors, allowing you the freedom to switch between TV, DVD and games consoles simply and quickly, without having to change cables and plugs in between uses. The Philips Wireless HDTV link is priced at €599.99 or around $800.

Creative Vado HD With Vado Central Software For Mac OS X

You can now pre-order the second generation Vado HD pocket camcorder from Creative. The gadget comes with new Vado Central for Mac OS X, which will feature video transferring and direct to iMovie importing of Vado videos. The new Vado Central will be available for download in early September and is compatible with all previous Vado and Vado HD models. The second generation of Vado HD is available in two new color combinations, a 4GB glossy white with green accents, which holds up to 60 minutes of video and an 8GB glossy black with red accents, which holds up to 120 minutes of video. The 4GB and 8GB models are priced at $179.99 and $199.99, respectively.

Other features include an HDMI out, a DVD player, and the Windows 7 Ultimate OS. The price starts at around $499.

Sony’s Latest Mega Blu-ray Changer

The Sony BDP-CX7000ES Mega Disc Changer allows you to load up to 400 Blu-ray discs. The player can automatically download Gracenote MusicID and VideoID data via an Ethernet connection, saving all of the information (including cover art) that you need to easily navigate disc titles onscreen. The navigation menu is also easy, thanks to the familiar Sony “Xross” media bar interface. The Sony BDP-CX7000ES also features an advanced DVD upscaling system. Audio support includes Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 channel sound. Buffalo To Release Two New 10x Blu-ray Writers

Buffalo Japan is set to release two new optical drives for the Japanese market in the form of the BR-H1016SU2 (external) and BR-H1016FBS-BK (internal) Blu-ray writers. Both drives feature a 4MB of buffer memory and provide write speeds of up to 10x for BD-R SL, 8x for BD-R DL, 2x for BD-RE SL/DL, 16 x for DVD-R/+R, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW. They also come with several connectivity ports including SATA and USB 2.0 for BR-H1016FBS-BK, and eSATA for BR-H1016SU2. The BR-H1016SU2 and BR-H1016FBS-BK will hit Japanese stores in early September for around $359 and $300, respectively.

Onkyo Releases Windows 7 Ready Amplifiers

Onkyo Japan will release their first Windows 7 ready amplifiers on September 11, 2009 in Japan. Dubbed as the TX-NA5007 and TX-NA1007, both amplifiers are DLNA complaint and support Dolby NR Professional Logic IIz, Dolby NR TrueHD, DTS-HD Mater and playback of WAV (linear PCM)/WMA (DRM)/WMA Lossless/MP3/AAC/FLAC/Ogg Vorbis formats. The Onkyo TX-NA5007 and TX-NA1007 are priced at 367,500 Yen ($4000) and 262,500 Yen ($2850), respectively.

Marantz’s Entry-level AV Receiver

Marantz has entered the entry-level AV receiver market by releasing the NR1501. Priced at $600, the AV receiver comes with four HDMI inputs, onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and analog video upconversion. The NR1501 also a bit smaller than most receivers. Sadly, there is no 7.1 analog inputs, multizone functionality, and satellite radio connections.

World’s Smallest HDMI Hi-Def Photo Player From Hi-Den Vision

Hong Kong-based Hi-Den Vision has recently introduced the HD-0311 that is claimed to be the world’s smallest HDMI Hi-Def Photo Player. The HD-0311 allows playback of the photos on an HDTV at up to 1080p HDMI resolution, and it also lets the user use the remote control to customize the viewing of the photos. The device is also capable of playing music and video clips. No info on pricing so far.
